Characteristics

Simplicity

In order to simplify the activities of creating the interface to the “Payment Gateway”, Consorzio Triveneto examined specific plug-ins that are provided to Merchants which allow for rapid integration of the payment function within the system.
The technical documentation provided to Merchants also includes specifications for interfacing directly with the “Payment Gateway”, enabling access to be gained to the service from any hardware and software platform, without the need to install any additional software.

Flexibility

 “Payment Gateway” supports multiple operating methods which allows for management of the many sales channels available today (Internet, mail order and telephone sales, m-commerce, etc.).
The standard Internet payment method (“Hosted Payment Page”) involves the Purchaser, at the time of payment, being redirected by the Internet shop to the payment page, run directly by Consorzio Triveneto; a page upon which the purchaser can insert the “sensitive” data from their credit card in the utmost security guaranteed by the banking environment.
The page is highly customizable by the Seller Company, in order to match it with the virtual shop in which the purchase was made.
Upon request, the “server to server” method is also available. This involves online authorization of the payment request, with the Seller Company sending the credit card details. This method is also used for requesting payments relating to orders received via other sales channels (for example, mail order or telephone, m-commerce, etc.).
“Payment Gateway” also offers a system for managing payments deriving from sales by mail order or telephone, which does not require any implementation activity to the Seller Company’s systems.
For companies which do not require immediate payment verification, tools are provided for reports to be sent at periodic intervals containing all the transactions to be authorized.
In all methods, the payment transactions can either be conducted with the Card Holder being debited immediately or with such occurring subsequently, at the time of processing the order.

Security

Security is an essential element for distance selling, particularly via the Internet, given the criticality of the data processed. Consorzio Triveneto has always paid great attention to security when providing its services, as evidenced by the key certifications it has obtained (PCI-DSS and ISO27001) and by its constant attention to security rules proposed by the payment circuits.
The “Payment Gateway” platform provides to Companies operating on the Internet the most updated authentication protocols proposed by the international circuits: Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode, combined with verification of the security code present on the card. The use of these protocols protects the Seller Company from transaction refusals by the holder of the credit or prepaid card, ensuring, in most cases, successful payment.

Completeness

“Payment Gateway” provides a comprehensive Back Office system in which it is possible to view operations and administer transactions, for example, requests for charging the card holder at the time of processing the order or for crediting the payment back in the case of returns.
The administrative functions can also be automated by interfacing the Seller Company’s system with “Payment Gateway”, through the plug-ins provided at the time of activation or through direct interfacing.
The reporting system provided by the system allows, also through the use of automated tools, for the system operations to be balanced, with bank account extracts.
